"How did you get into photography/weddings?"

"How long have you been a photographer?"

Why tell you when it's so much more fun to show you?!

Click through the timeline to see how I got here!

I can't tell you when I first picked up a camera, but I can tell you why: music. I was never talented musically, but I always wanted to be around it.
I picked up a camera in hopes of photographing my favorite musicians, and in 2008, I photographed my first show!

When I was 16, a local event photographer took me under their wing and let me second-shoot my first two weddings.
I borrowed their camera with a vintage manual-focus lens and felt unstoppable, like this hobby could become something more.

When it was time to pick my school, I knew the only thing I wanted to focus on was photography.
I learned, I grew, and I even debated whether this was the path for me - constant criticism can be draining.

In college, desperate to make this my actual job, I posted ads on Craigslist advertising my work, hoping someone would bite.
Huge shoutout to Carmen & Donovan who hired me to photograph their elopement - my very first solo wedding!

Over the years, I continued second-shoot, learning how wedding days run, & how I preferred to capture them.
I slowly fell in love with them! The rush of the day, the absolute love of everyone, and the joy that filled every room!

Through the years, I kept shooting concerts, photographing so many awesome bands, even some of my absolute favorites!
Not only did I love it, but I learned so much from it - how to photograph changing light, quick moments,
and how to keep a (mostly) level head while surrounded by absolute chaos.

After years of second-shooting, photographing a ton of concerts & personal projects, and hating retail/service industry, I finally took the plunge.
I quit my job and started my business. Totally not the best move, but it was exactly what I needed.
I began advertising my wedding work & booked a bunch of absolutely amazing couples!
Three years (and a whole ass pandemic) later, and I couldn't be more in love with what I do!
